After the release of Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 2, Canonical has unleashed a few minutes ago the Beta version of the upcoming Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) Linux operating system, which is available for download right now.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.11.1, Ubuntu 13.10 Beta features Upstart 1.10, CUPS 1.6.2, cups-filters 1.0.34, and Python 3.3. A Windows installer (Wubi) will still not be offered for this release of Ubuntu, which will be supported for only 9 months.

As expected, Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) Beta is distributed as Live DVD ISO images, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. The final release of Ubuntu 13.10 will see the light of day on October 17, 2013, giving testers a fair amount of time to report bugs. Download Ubuntu 13.10 Beta right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
