What's new in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2? Well, the second Beta release, and the last development version of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, is now powered by Linux kernel 3.2.12.
There aren't many changes since the first Beta release, which was made available at the beginning of March, only a few updated apps like LibreOffice 3.5.1, Unity 5.8, which brings lots of improvements, and various GNOME 3.3.x components (no GNOME 3.4 packages, yet).
Ubuntu One has been updated once again and it now features a nice Control Panel with fully functional proxy support and Ubuntu One music store added in Rhythmbox. The Nautilus ribbon with "Enable Sync" check box was removed, as well as the syncing contacts functionality.
As a last addition, there's now a new entry in the System Setting panel, called "Management Service". When clicked it will install Canonical's Landscape client, to help system administrators to easily manage and monitor multiple machines.
Last but not least, Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS Beta 2 incorporates the OpenStack Essex RC1 release and the maas package, used for better machine deployment orchestration. What's new in Kubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2? Well, the second Beta version of Kubuntu 12.04 LTS is build on top of the newly released KDE Software Compilation 4.8.1. Also, the first tech previews of Kubuntu Active were made available for download (see download links at the end of the article).
