Version 3.6 of the popular auto-typing and auto-correcting utility for
Mac OS X, Typinator, is now available. The program requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and is a Universal Binary, good for running on both PowerPC and Intel-based computers.
Developed by Ergonis Software, Typinator is a very useful tool for auto-typing text and auto-correcting typos across all Mac OS X applications that use text and / or images. It helps users quickly insert phrases or pictures into any type of document, and eliminates errors by automating the process of inserting frequently used text and graphics and auto-correcting typing errors, thus boosting productivity.
“Have you ever experienced the tedium and frustration of having to repeatedly type your name, e-mail address, home page url, and other words or phrases again, again and again? Or do you frequently need to quickly insert images like your signature, location plan, or company logo into documents? Do you often introduce errors when retyping standard business text? New in version 3.6 is the support for snippet synchronization with Dropbox and MobileMe iDisk, a support interface that simplifies registration and various support activities, the green light for abbreviations that begin with a space character, and many more enhancements. Also noteworthy is that Typinator now allows you to select which folder should be used to store abbreviation sets. A more flexible adaptation to applications with special requirements is also included with version 3.6, as is the program’s new version check function – now includes dynamic updates of special cases for certain applications.
