The Iconfactory has released Twitterrific 5.2 for iPhone and iPad featuring push notifications, Droplr thumbnails, improved formatting, numerous UI tweaks and even more bug fixes.

Twitterrific’s new push notification service is labeled as a beta now. It will be rolling out to batches of 1,000 users over the next few weeks, according to the developers. Users who cannot enable push notifications are told to try again in the next few days.

That’s the biggest change in Twitterrific 5.2. The rest of the enhancements announced by The Iconfactory can be found in the official release notes.

Notable changes include: user banners now display on profile pages, discussions can now be shared via email or Storify, and Droplr thumbnails have been added to the timeline.

Twitterrific is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. It requires iOS 5.0 or later.
