The microblogging company known as Twitter Inc. is expanding its portfolio today with a free application that lets you find new music by using Tweets and follows.
You can also use Twitter charts to see “the most popular new music and emerging talent on Twitter,” and you can follow your favorite artists to get their latest stuff instantly, as well as see which artists they follow themselves.
The app currently has ties to iTunes, Rdio, and Spotify and requires iOS 6.0. Twitter #music is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad.
