OpenVPN client Tunnelblick 3.4 has yet to mature out of beta, but the developers are keen on ironing out all the bugs before releasing the final build. The new version also includes additional security checking.

Tunnelblick 3.4 Beta 10 verifies the digital signature of the Sparkle framework, checks to see if kexts and digital signatures are secured, verifies that everything in the application is writable only by root, and finally looks for any suspicious system folders used by Tunnelblick.

In addition to all that security-centric tweaking, the new Tunnelblick also includes better error checking and reporting when installing a VPN configuration, and includes an Option-click (Alt-click) function on most (configuration settings) checkboxes to decide whether to apply the changes for the selected configuration, or for all configurations.

Numerous other enhancements are also included, all detailed in the changelog.
