Microsoft has just rolled out the long-awaited April firmware update for the Xbox One console, bringing forth a suite of improvements for the party chat, game hub links, better achievement notifications, and more.

The Xbox One console has been around for quite some time and Microsoft has made sure to keep enriching the suite of features offered by the device with monthly major system software updates.

The April system update for the Xbox One is now live

As we head into April, this month's firmware update has just been released by Microsoft worldwide. The actual system software should become available for download via the Xbox Live online service today, April 6.

According to the official Xbox Wire, lots of small yet essential improvements are included in the new firmware, starting with a few different enhancements to the Party Chat system.

After already enriching the mechanic throughout the last few months, Microsoft now adds better troubleshooting guidance for Xbox One owners and the actual application will guide them through the different aspects of the voice chatting experience.

What's more, the Game Hub system has also been enhanced, making important updates and news easier to discover. The actual hub of a game is easier to access from the activity feed as well as from the achievements application.

Speaking of achievements, their notifications have been improved in order to show the amount of Gamerscore you've unlocked, not to mention what actual deed was rewarded.

Last but not least, for Xbox One users in the U.S., Canada, and the UK, there's a new What's On section in the interface that links to popular videos, games, movies, TV shows, game broadcasts, and much more.

Microsoft also mentions that a few other promised features for the April Xbox One firmware update, such as voice messaging and dedicated servers for party chat aren't included in this month's release, as extra testing is needed to ensure maximum performance.
