Things, the popular task manager for OS X and iOS, has been promoted to version 2.0 which introduces Things Cloud, a new feature that keeps all your to-dos synced across all your devices.
According to its makers, Things is “the perfect companion for everything you want to achieve in life, offering a great balance between ease of use and powerful features […] with Things' beautiful interface, task management becomes a delight.”
A feature incorporated in all versions of Things, Cloud “stores your to-dos and automatically keeps them up-to-date on your Mac, iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.” As soon as you update to Things 2.0, just go to the settings panel and turn on Things Cloud.
There’s a new Daily Review section that lets you “see everything that needs your attention at a glance,” and the scrolling Date Picker makes selecting dates more natural and fluent.
Developer Cultured Code explains that, “Instead of splitting the calendar into months, the scrolling date picker combines them into a continuous stream. So the next few weeks are always just one tap away - and everything beyond, just a scroll.”
Users can now cancel to-dos by tapping and holding their checkbox, as well as move them to the Logbook automatically as soon as they’re completed.
You can add whole projects to Today, instead of just single to-dos, as well as choose a first day of the week other than Monday or Sunday.
Accessibility when using VoiceOver has been improved, and the Things engine has been updated as well “for a blazingly fast Things Cloud performance.”
Cultured Code asks longtime users to note that Things Cloud replaces the old Bonjour Sync, and that this update requires iOS 5 or later.Download Things for OS XDownload Things for iPhoneDownload Things for iPad
