The Witcher 2 has just received patch 1.3, which is now available for download for almost all owners of the game, except those who bought it on Steam.

The Witcher 2 gained critical acclaim earlier this year with its deep role-playing mechanics, sharp graphics and intense combat.

It wasn't perfect, however, as its developer, Polish studio CD Projekt Red quickly released a few patches for the game, 1.1 and 1.2, respectively, in order to resolve some of the biggest problems.

Now, The Witcher 2 has received a new update, taking it to version 1.3, and solving a variety of annoyances, bugs, issues or glitches reported by players up until now.

What's more, the studio also added in a brand new downloadable quest, entitled A Sackful of Fluff, which can be experienced for free.

"The long-awaited patch 1.3 is finally here," CD Projekt Red revealed on The Witcher 2 community page.

"We apologize it took so long, but we had to make sure that all of the issues were addressed accordingly. The update includes a plethora of fan-requested improvements, including difficulty adjustments for the game’s Prologue, support for a variety of aspect ratios and a host of other gameplay tweaks and fixes. Next to the long list of changes, this update also brings along free DLC - a quest called “A Sackful of Fluff”."

The Witcher 2 patch 1.3 can be downloaded right now from Softpedia, and you can also enjoy the full changelog to see what has been fixed or modified by the developers at CD Projekt Red.

You can either choose to upgrade from version 1.2 to 1.3 or right from the original game to the 1.3 version.

Sadly, for those who bought The Witcher 2 on Valve's Steam service, CD Projekt Red announced that the update hasn't gone live just yet, limiting itself to saying that it will be released "at a later time."
