Microsoft is sharing development milestone of the next major iteration of System Center with early adopters.

The Microsoft Management Summit was used as the stage for the introduction of the Beta Build of two System Center 2012 components.

I already told you about System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager Beta and how it’s designed to help customers transition from private to public Clouds.

But the software giant also announced the second Beta of System Center Configuration Manager 2012, a solution designed to help enterprise customers deal with the increasing consumerization of IT.

“System Center Configuration Manager 2012 Beta 2 helps you empower your employees to use the devices and applications they need to be productive, while maintaining corporate compliance and control,” the company stated.

“In today’s workplace, the boundaries between work and life have blurred. People expect consistent access to corporate services from wherever they are, on any device they’re using—including desktops, laptops, smart phones, and slates.”

What System Center Configuration Manager 2012 is designed to do is let corporate customers allow their users to influence the enterprise IT environments (via the consumerization trend), but at the same time, continuing to protect and control company assets.

ConfigMgr 2012 is tailored to scenarios involving remote workers who utilize a variety of form factors with Exchange ActiveSync support.

In this regard, employees are free to use their favorite smartphone for example, be it Windows Phone, Symbian, iPhone (iOS) or an Android-based device.

“With System Center Configuration Manager 2012 Beta 2 user experiences can be delivered and managed based on corporate identity, network connectivity, and device type – enabling you to meet the demand for consistent, anywhere access to corporate services,” the company added.

“It provides you with a unified infrastructure for mobile, physical and virtual environments helps you manage everything in the same place and using the same processes you already have established.”
