A new flavor of the SwiftKey application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 4.2.1.

The new application release was meant to resolve a series of issues that some users have been experiencing before, which resulted in their personal languages being lost.

Furthermore, following the update, the Backup & Sync feature of the application will no longer keep the phone awake and drain battery, the release notes unveil.

Additionally, the new app iteration resolves a series of crashes that have been spotted in the previous release of the software, namely version 4.2.

Some of these include “flowing two words together quickly, repeatedly pressing update languages button, and a number of others,” the release notes show.

Other enhancements packed inside the update include:

- Reduced network usage when Trending Phrases are turned on - Predictions in right-to-left languages should now be displayed the right way round. - Fixed Evernote return key problems - Restored “^” as m-key secondary in Azerty layout - Spanish punctuation now available on Qwerty layout (if Spanish language is enabled) - Fixed some translations within the app

The new release was made available for download as a free update for all those who have already purchased it. They should head over to the Google Play Store app on their devices, hit the My Apps button and then download and install the update.

Those who haven’t can grab it through the Google Play store or via the Amazon App portal for $3.99/£2.99/€3.99. The app is available on Softpedia as well, via the link below.

As always, users who purchase, download, and install the application are encouraged to provide feedback on their experience with it, so the more improvements could be included.

“Many thanks to all of the users who took the time to report bugs on our feedback forum; your input helps us to track down problems and fix them quickly and efficiently,” the app’s developers note.
