Legendary arcade games make the App Store, sell dirt cheap

Capcom has released two of the world’s most popular arcade classics, Street Fighter II and Final Fight, on the iTunes App Store where they are both immediately available for download at introductory prices.

Street Fighter II Collection contains three slightly different versions of the same game, including Street Fighter II Turbo and currently sells for $3.99.

The included games have improved operability and in-game menu, compared to the titles being distributed through “Capcom Arcade”. As you can imagine, if you have already purchased the applications through “Capcom Arcade”, it does not mean that you own this collection, therefore you download will be charged.

In this respect, matches using Bluetooth are available only between players who buy the collection. The application is not designed to connect with the same three titles currently being distributed through “Capcom Arcade”.

Street Fighter II Collection supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 3G with iOS 4.1 onwards.

The first generation iPod touch (8GB, model No, A1288) and the first generation iPhone are not supported.

The app is not designed for iPads, though it runs on them, says Capcom.

Final Fight fans pretty much have the same things to look out for (device compatibility, firmware, Bluetooth play) only they have a smaller price to pay to download the game.

Considered one of the best side-scrolling arcade fighting games ever created, Final Fight for iPhone stars three notorious characters - Guy, Cody, and Haggar. Players must choose one and rescue Jessica who was kidnapped by the violence group “Mad Gear.”

The iPhone version of Final Fight also features improved operability and a slightly better display of in-game menu.
