The exclusive Steve Jobs biography by bestselling author Walter Isaacson is out on the iBookstore for iPad and iPhone, as well as on Amazon as Kindle e-book and hardcover.

Written by Walter Isaacson, the author of bestselling biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein, the exclusive biography of Steve Jobs is based on over forty interviews with the late Apple co-founder spanning more than two years.

The book also reflects interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and fellow Apple staffers, to achieve what publisher Simon & Schuster calls “a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.”

“At a time when America is seeking ways to sustain its innovative edge, and when societies around the world are trying to build digital-age economies, Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness and applied imagination,” reads the preface.

“He knew that the best way to create value in the twenty-first century was to connect creativity with technology. He built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering.”

As it was revealed earlier this year by Simon & Schuster, Jobs cooperated with the book but asked for no control over what was written. He later revealed to author Walter Isaacson that the main reason to have a biography published was to allow his kids to know him better.

Jobs also gave up the right to read the book before it was published and put nothing off-limits. According to the publishers, Jobs actually encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly, no matter how good or how bad their experience with the man has been.
