14 DAY TRIAL // Apogee Software, Ltd. and 3D Realms are offering up Stargunner as a free download for Mac OS X. All you need to grab the free sci-fi game is a Gog.com account.
Stargunner is a sci-fi scrolling shooter that promises to take players through stellar, terran, and aquatic battlefields with over 75 animated enemy craft, 33 end-level bosses, hundreds of hidden gems (weapons, shields, and power-ups), and more.
The minimum system requirements are OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later, Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz+ processor, 1GB of RAM, 64MB of video memory, two-button mouse, or Apple mouse with secondary button / secondary click enabled.
No word on whether Stargunner supports gamepads, but it would be really nice if it did. Button mashing games are best played like that. Gog.com says, “Get them before they get you - there won't be a second chance.”
