If you’re a Spotify fanatic, you can now listen to the world’s music collection on your iPad, according to the creators of the music service.

Spotify’s Andres Sehr writes on the company’s official blog: “We’re buzzing today because we’ve brought your favourite music service to one of your favourite devices. Say hello to the Spotify iPad app.”

“Now you can play, discover and share music like never before,” said Andres.

The Spotify iPad app is basically just an updated version of the old app which now works on both iPhone and iPad. However, the update is huge!

Customers get Retina graphics - “dazzling display, razor sharp images, richer colours”, even easier ways to browse and explore Spotify’s 18 million song catalogue, and a new ‘Now Playing’ full-screen view with high-definition cover art.

Users can search for playlists, users and music from the same view, and they can keep up with the trends by checking out the playlists & songs listened by friends.

The Inbox has been grouped by user for easy searching, and there’s gapless playback and crossfade effects for smooth transitions. Last, but not least, the app gets AirPlay integration, so you can stream your favorite music to your speakers around the house.

“Our iPad app looks great,” Andres said. “We’ve included Retina graphics and high-definition album art to make browsing a pleasure. Enjoying all the world’s music instantly on your iPad has never been easier.”

“And with the brand new full-screen view and AirPlay integration, Spotify and your iPad are perfect for each other, both as your pumped-up living room stereo and your lean, green music machine when you’re on the move,” Andres added.

Andres encourages music fans to head over to the App Store to download the new app. Those who are trying out the service for the first time can sign up for the 30-day free trial.

“We’ve worked long and hard on this app and hope you enjoy it as much as we do,” Andres concluded.
