The popular email client for Mac OS X, Sparrow, has received important fixes in the latest update released to users this week, including one that should result in less taxing of the CPU.

Sparrow developers have worked hard to enable the software to generate PNG images instead of TIFF files when copy-pasting images in the message composer.

The update fixes Gmail group sync, forwarding of emails with attachments on POP accounts, and the aforementioned CPU issue. POP account folders management issues have been dealt with as well, and POP account restoration is now enabled.

In addition to IMAP and POP protocols, Sparrow supports Gmail (classic and Google apps), MobileMe, Yahoo!, AOL, any custom IMAP server, Hotmail, MSN, and Live.
