Just now, Sony has made available the download links for its latest PlayStation 4 firmware, namely version 1.70, which includes a huge number of changes that will improve the unit’s overall performance, stability, and usability.

Specifically speaking, this fresh release includes SHAREfactory support to the content area, allows users to copy multimedia files from the PS4 to a USB storage, and adds the “Best HD” as a supported resolution.

In addition to that, various files can now be saved to online services, adjusting the light bar brightness on the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller is now possible, and the “Enable HDCP” option has been added to the Settings → System menu. Also, several other changes that you can view on the description page will be made.

When it comes to installing this release, get the 1.70 firmware, create a “PS4/UPDATE” path on an empty USB drive, and copy the newly downloaded .PUP file onto the drive’s update folder.

Now, power off the PS4, make sure the console is completely turned off, connect the USB storage device, and start the PlayStation 4 in safe mode (press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds).

All you need to do now is to select “Update System Software,” follow the on-screen instructions, and allow the Sony console to perform the upgrade.

That being said, download Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 1.70, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and enjoy your newly-improved console.
