Developer iH8sn0w is informing his 120K Twitter followers that he has released a new version of Sn0wbreeze, a Windows jailbreak tool.
According to the hacker, Sn0wbreeze 2.9.5 adds 5.1.1/9B208 untether payload for the GSM version of Apple’s iPhone 4, as well as a location services fix for iPhone 3GS models.
iH8sn0w clarifies that his hack “cannot be updated to work on A5(X) devices until a low level exploit in DFU or iBoot is found and made public.” As such, owners of a third-generation iPad “will have to rely on using the lovely absinthe.”
Absinthe is a collaborative effort on behalf of two groups of hackers. The official 2.0 release for iOS 5.1.1 was released last week at the Hack in the Box convention in Amsterdam.
