Microsoft has just rolled out Skype 6.5 beta, a new preview version of its VoIP client that packs quite a lot of improvements.

In addition to bug fixes and stability enhancements, the new version also comes with a brand new option called Skype Video Messaging that allows users to record a video message and send it to offline contacts.

Next time they go online, they are allowed to watch your clip in a standard conversation window.

What’s more, the beta build packs important bug fixes that address issues with the call option in some specific moments reported by users. The stability of the application has also been improved for outgoing calls.

The beta is available for all Windows users, including XP, Vista and 7, but also for the desktop environment of Windows 8.
