Microsoft has announced (but has yet to release) Skype version 4.14 for iPhone and iPad with a focus on improved start-up time and changes recommended by the users.

The new Skype sports a redesigned sign-in screen that makes it easier to log in with your Skype or Microsoft credentials, while a new permissions pop-up will prompt iOS 7 customers to use the microphone for calls, audio messages, or video messages.

The update further includes fixes and performance improvements, of which Microsoft cares to detail none. That’s ok, though. The anxiousness to see the issue you hated the most get fixed will raise your adrenaline and burn some fat.

According to Microsoft, Skype for iPhone version 4.14 currently supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPod Touch (3rd generation), iPod Touch (4th generation), iPod Touch (5th generation). The iPad build is said to support all tablet versions released by Apple to date, yet the software requirement is iOS 5, which probably means that the original iPad is out.

The updates are yet to go live in the iTunes App Store.
