An updated flavor of the Skype application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone devices out there, namely version 2.16.0.274.

According to the release notes attached to the new app iteration, users who download and install it will receive mainly a series of bug fixes and general improvements.

However, all of the features and capabilities that the mobile client had inside it before this update are still there, enabling people to easily stay connected with their friends and family at all times.

The app comes with messaging and voice and video chatting capabilities, which can be used both over 3G and Wi-Fi connections. Calls made to other Skype users out there, regardless of their operating system, are free.

Skype for Windows Phone also comes with People Hub integration, so that users can find their Skype contracts easier.

The mobile application is available for devices running under Windows Phone 7.5, Windows Phone 8, and Windows Phone 8.1, though not all features and capabilities are available for all people out there. Furthermore, Microsoft also notes that the app requires a minimum of 512MB of RAM.

The company also announced recently that it would release a new flavor of the app to go along with the Windows Phone 8.1 OS and that it would provide users with a series of new, appealing features.
