ShareTool, the app that lets you to access all of the Bonjour services on your home network from anywhere in the world, has been updated with performance enhancements for OS X Lion users, improved support for BusyCal and BusySync, and more.

“ShareTool is a fast, extremely secure, and magical way to remain connected to your home or office network(s) no matter where you are physically,” says Yazsoft, the developer.

Yazsoft is also behind other popular Mac apps, like Speed Download, and Playback.

ShareTool allows you to see many shared Bonjour-enabled services on your remote home or office network automatically.

These will appear in Finder, iTunes, iPhoto, and other applications ShareTool integrates with.

The app basically makes it feel as if you were physically located at that network, says Yazsoft.

Among the key functions, ShareTool lets you encrypt all of your web traffic and route it through your home network; browse the web securely; listen to your entire home iTunes music library; control any of your home computers (including the ability to grab files) and more.

ShareTool also supports iTunes Home Sharing across the web, and automatically provides Bonjour over VPN connections.

ShareTool can also be run as a Mac OS X service via a background daemon.

You don't actually need to be logged in as a user to share your network, and you can connect to multiple networks at the same time.

“ShareTool is the smartest, safest, and most efficient way to access your home or office networks no matter where you are. It's what the experts use and trust everyday,” Yazsoft concludes.

Now, the latest version of ShareTool (2.2.6) brings: faster performance under OS X Lion; improved support for BusyCal and BusySync; fixed Screen Sharing issues under Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Lion; and various bug fixes and tweaks.

Yazsoft also notes that the demo period has been reset for all users.
