Apple has released a new Safari developer preview (DP) build for programmers testing OS X 10.7.5, an upcoming incremental update for Apple’s Lion operating system.

The company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California is actively testing at least two builds of OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion, the latest major version of its Mac OS.

OS X 10.8.2, the newest beta sent out to developers this week, incorporates Safari 6.0.1 by default. OS X 10.7.5 (Lion), however, doesn’t. Apple wanted to see how the latest Safari beta behaves on Lion, so they issued a standalone installer for Lion testers.

So far, no particularly noteworthy changes have been reported in Safari 6.0.1. Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) users will not be getting the update, apparently. If any new features are reported to us, we’ll make sure to post them straight away.

People enrolled with Apple's Mac Developer Program can download the latest Safari beta from the company's dev center.
