One of the best-looking games of its kind, Ridge Racer Slipstream has been updated to address an issue involving Facebook connectivity, as well as to include enhancements to the tutorial module and some minor fixes.

Optimized for the newest iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models, Ridge Racer Slipstream 2.0.3 is now available as a free download from the iTunes App Store and addresses “the Facebook crash that some of our players who updated the game were encountering,” according to Namco Bandai Games, the developer.

The update further includes enhancements to the tutorial and some minor bug fixes. Customers who are still experiencing the Facebook loop bug are told to enter the Settings menu and enable airplane mode (or swipe upwards from the bottom of the screen and find the AirPlane Mode icon at the top right), launch Ridge Racer Slipstream, switch back to the settings and disable AirPlane Mode, and then resume the game.

“Dating back to its original release in 1993, Ridge Racer has the honor of being one of the longest running racing franchises in history. Over 25 releases on arcade, home & portable consoles, PC, mobile, smartphones & tablets,” says Namco.

To download Ridge Racer Slipstream, you need iOS 7.0 and a compatible iDevice. The game is supported in English only.

Although it’s advertised as free to download and play, Ridge Racer Slipstream contains in-app purchases that unlock specific features.
