A new release of Piriform’s undeleter is out. The developer increases support for Windows 8 in Recuva 1.42 and improves file searching on Windows 2008 R2.

The list of changes for this release is not too large, but it includes important modifications, such as a re-architected deep scan algorithm for PNG and JPG image formats. Additionally, there is a new feature that allows you to export the file list.

Keyboard navigation has been improved, allowing you to easily move from one option to another just by using a few keys: Tab, arrows, Space and Enter.

Rare because of the conditions it occurred under, a crash on XP systems when scanning FAT drives has also been fixed. Other fixes and improvements refer to minor bugs and better memory usage for large volume drives.

You can also download the portable version of the application, which works on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
