The beginning of the year brings good news for the Intel motherboard owners, as Realtek surfaces a new driver version for the on-board chips.

The new audio driver is available in two packages: one for Windows XP and one bundle for Windows Vista and 7, with both drivers developed for 32 and 64-bit operating systems.

Intel warns about potential errors XP64 users might get when they want to install the 6526 driver on their boards. In case "Error in installation" or 'Unknown error" messages are displayed, users are advised to download and install Windows XP x64 edition update KB901105 from Microsoft. After rebooting, the driver should install without any further issues.
