14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has released QuickTime 7.7.2 for Windows PCs worldwide, improving the security of the multimedia framework meant for playing digital video, pictures, sound, panoramic images and more.
According to Apple, QuickTime 7.7.2 improves security and is recommended for all users of the application on Windows, as detailed in this support document.
Any version below 7.2.2 requires this update, but users are told that installing QuickTime 7 over QuickTime 6 will disable the QuickTime Pro functionality, in case it has been purchased.
“If you are a QuickTime 6 Pro user and you proceed with this installation, you will need to purchase a QuickTime 7 Pro registration code in order to regain QuickTime Pro functionality,” Apple says. “After installation, visit theApple Online Store to purchase a QuickTime 7 Pro registration code.”
