14 DAY TRIAL // ThinkTime Creations LLC has released Instant: The Polaroid Instant Camera for iOS devices which mimics the workflow of a classic Polaroid instant camera with realistic visual and sound effects.
Using the $0.99/€0.89 app iPhone and iPad users can shoot a new picture (or load one up from their camera roll) and apply an authentic Polaroid-like filter and borders, as well as captions.
The app replicates the workflow of a real Polaroid camera, including the realistic sound effect of having a photo slide out ready for developing.
The image actually develops slowly until the final picture unveils ready for you to mess around with its colors and lighting.
To do that you get 30 unique vintage style photo filters, all of which are adjustable in strength. Also on the list of top features is vignette and emulsion artifacts.
“Instant brings back the magic of the iconic Polaroid instant camera to your iPhone,” says ThinkTime Creations.
“At the touch of a finger, users can shoot a new picture using the camera on the iPhone or select an existing one from their photo album, apply an authentic Polaroid-like filter, add Polaroid class border and write text on it, thus, compose a classic Polaroid instant photo,” according to the developers.
The app requires iOS 5.0 and works with most iDevices released by Apple.
According to the compatibility list, it works with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. The app is also optimized for iPhone 5.
Note that while the iPhone version of Instant does work on iPads, it doesn’t have an iPad-native interface. For that, you'll need to grab the iPad-ready version. Both builds are available below.
