Windows 7 moves forward through the development process, a new security outfit has produced a solution designed to secure the next iteration of the Windows client. In this regard, Panda Security announced that it has adapted Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 to support Windows 7. The Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 tailored to the successor of Windows Vista is already available for download, although Microsoft has yet to include it on its roster of companies delivering security solutions for its Windows 7 operating system.
According to Panda Security, Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 is currently available in Beta and is designed to integrate with Beta Build 7000 of Windows 7. The security company has failed to indicate whether both 32-bit and 64-bit variants of Windows 7 are supported. And while compatibility with the x86 version of Windows 7 is nothing short of inherent, the same cannot be said about the x64 flavor of the platform, which is a tad more pretentious when it comes down to security solutions.
Panda Security is applauding its security solution of Windows 7 Beta as delivering anti-malware and identity-theft protection, as well as advanced heuristics. In addition, Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 comes to the table with what the security outfit referred to as its proprietary 'cloud-based' detection technology. Labeled “Collective Intelligence,” the technology is designed to sniff out and neutralize threats across its network.
"Under the traditional malware protection model, IT security companies have to receive a new example of malware, manually analyze and classify it, then create and distribute the vaccine. This simply takes too long. Collective Intelligence lets us automate these tasks, thereby speeding up the process. Protection from the cloud, on the other hand, lets us provide malware vaccines to our users as soon as we have generated them, protecting them in real-time," explained Pedro Bustamante, consumer unit director, Collective for Panda Security.
