This weekend, PS3 Media Server has been updated to build 1.90.1. Although the modifications it brings to the table are not numerous, they are not to be neglected either.

The development team put some effort into repairing a problem that prevented plugins extending FFmpegWebAudio and FFmpegWebVideo safely. Also, FFMpeg component for Windows has been updated.

Another fix refers to MEncoder: spaces and font names should no longer affect video playback.

Furthermore, the new release includes a fix for a regressing bug affecting support for tsMuxer and H264.

On Mac OSX, Java support for file names with special characters has been restored.

Updating PS Media Server from versions above 1.70 should occur with no trouble. However, with builds older than 1.70 users are recommended to first back up the PMS.conf file and then proceed with the update, in order to avoid losing your custom settings.
