Norway-based Opera Software is out with a new version of its popular web browser for mobile platforms, blessing the iOS version with Facebook integration, and improved overall performance.

Opera now lists the “integration with iOS Facebook framework” as the primary feature in Opera mini 7 for iPhone and iPad. It requires iOS 6 to work.

The 7.0.5 update improves performance when saving large images, and fixes a freezing issue after sharing a page via email. Video playback on youtube.com is also improved on iPhone and iPod.

Various performance and stability fixes are incorporated as well and iOS 4.2 devices are now supported too.

Lastly, the update includes various fixes related to the browser’s functionality under iOS 6.

Opera mini is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later. The app is optimized for the iPhone 5’s large display.
