And a new snapshot of Opera Unite 10.10

Two new development milestones of Opera are now available for download, offering the plain vanilla browser, as well as the flavor that comes with Opera Unite. In this regard, users are free to download Opera 10.0 Beta 3 Build 1723 and a new snapshot of Opera Unite 10.10.

The promise from the browser maker is that the first Beta Build of Opera Unite will be offered for testing after version 10.0 is made available for the general public.

“You have two options to choose from: You can choose Opera 10.0 or Opera 10.10 with Unite. We're still working on polishing Opera Unite. We'll release the beta version of Opera 10.10 as soon as possible after the release of 10.0,” revealed a member of the Opera Desktop Team.

The latest milestone of Opera 10.0 Beta 3 is tailored to integrate with yet another platform, FreeBSD 8, in addition to the Linux distros, Windows and Mac OS X, which were already supported. However, Opera Software noted that an AMD64 FreeBSD 7/8 build was not supplied to testers. Users should be aware of the fact that both releases of Opera 10.0 and Opera Unite 10.10 are pre-release software and, in this context, they come to the table with inherent problems.

“If you've installed any of the older snapshots or betas and set Opera to download all snapshots in opera:config you should automatically get updated to today's snapshots of Opera 10.0,” the Opera Desktop Team representative added. “If you want to test out Unite, however, you'll have to download today's build of Opera 10.10 and install it manually. After that you'll be autoupdated to the next snapshot of Opera 10.10.”
