Apple has released OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 Supplemental Update to the masses, addressing issues with FaceTime cameras on MacBook Air systems, problems with external drives and USB Bluetooth adapters, and more.
Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc. reveals in a tech document that “The OS X v10.8.5 Supplemental Update is recommended for all users running OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5.”
In this particular release Apple aims to fix an issue that may prevent third-party apps (like Skype) from using the FaceTime HD camera on mid-2013 MacBook Airs.
A problem that causes external drives to be ejected after the computer goes to sleep is also addressed, along with a flaw that may prevent HDMI audio from working after waking from sleep. Finally, the supplemental 10.8.5 update fixes a bug that caused incompatibility issues with certain USB Bluetooth adapters.
