Developers enrolled with Apple’s annual $99 program are getting notifications from Cupertino, California regarding a new Lion seed featuring no known issues and a list of focus areas that require attention on Graphics, iCal, Mail, Printing and the system’s backup utility - Time Machine.

The OS X Lion 10.7.4 build 11E52 seed note says OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 is an update to OS X Lion 10.7 and that the OS X Lion 10.7.4 Update (Combo) update applies to OS X Lion 10.7, 10.7.1 or 10.7.2, 10.7.3 GM or any other previous 10.7.4 seed builds.

The OS X Lion 10.7.4 Update (Delta) update goes onto OS X Lion 10.7.3 GM or any other previous 10.7.4 seed builds. So far, Apple has rolled out four 10.7.4 betas, today’s build 11E52 being the fifth.

Apple urges testers to take not that they will not be able to revert back to their previous system after updating, and that such betas should be installed “on a system you are prepared to erase if necessary.”

There are no known issues with this seed, which is always a good indication that development is running a smooth course.

Focus areas include Graphics, iCal, Mail, Printing, and Time Machine.

“This build is being provided to you for testing and development purposes. Should you encounter any problems, please submit a bug report using the online Bug Reporter at <http://bugreporter.apple.com/>,” Apple states.

Developers are asked to make sure to include “10.7.4 (11E52)” in the bug title and description so that there’s no hassle on Apple’s end when processing the bug.

“When submitting a bug report, please make sure to include a Summary, Steps to Reproduce, Actual Results, Expected Results, the System Profile Report, and any other relevant information that is necessary to process the report,” Apple says, adding that “Engineering requires additional information for crashing bugs, kernel panics, and hanging issues.”

OS X 10.7.4 11E52 can be downloaded from Apple’s Mac Dev Center.
