Apple isn’t ready to ship OS X 10.8.2 yet, as the company has seeded yet another developer build in less than three days since the 12C50 seed which arrived with an end-user changelog.

Seeded to developers on September 12, OS X 10.8.2 Build 12C50 arrived with a set of release notes that indicated a near-final build. Developers were unsure whether or not this was the Golden Master release, but today we know for sure. It wasn’t.

Build 10C53 has arrived on the scene (seeded yesterday through Apple’s developer channels). The short timeframe between seeds is always an indication that the software is approaching its final form.

OS X 10.8.2 is known to be a compatibility update which adds support for the upcoming iOS 6. The two updates should be launched to the public simultaneously.

In addition to the compatibility update, OS X 10.8.2 brings Facebook integration, improvements to Game Center, phone number/Apple ID syncing, and more.
