Tomb Raider on the PC platform has received a brand new patch, taking it to version 1.01.748.0, which fixes quite a few problems relating to the DLC outfits or the TressFX tech, while improving the performance of the game when using certain CPUs or graphics cards.

Tomb Raider came out at the beginning of March and delighted millions of PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 owners from around the world.

Sadly, on the PC, it encountered quite a few technical issues, particularly when Nvidia graphics cards were running it.

These issues were fixed by subsequent patches for the game and driver updates for the graphics cards, and now a fresh patch has just been released via the Steam digital distribution service.

Update 1.01.748.0 promises to fix some issues relating to the three new DLC outfits or the TressFX technology, but also to improve performance in areas that were CPU-intensive, like the Shanty Town, and enhance water polygon display when running on Intel integrated graphics cards.

Check out the full changelog below, via Steam.

- Fixed problem with Mountaineer, Sure-Shot, and Demolition outfits not properly unlocking when no other DLC is installed. - Fixed TressFX Hair not being able to be turned on, on some machines, when using AMD Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround. - Significant performance improvements in CPU limited areas, for example in Shanty Town. - Fixed water polygons randomly disappearing on Intel graphics hardware. - Fix problem with English VO setting when playing in Japanese not properly being remembered after a restart. - Minor UI improvements.

The patch will be automatically downloaded by all Tomb Raider owners when they start up Steam and are connected to the Internet. If they want to stick with the old version, 1.01.743.0, they can download that update by switching their game into the beta mode from within Steam.
