14 DAY TRIAL // Obsidian Entertainment confirms that the long-awaited update 1.03 for Pillars of Eternity, its popular role-playing experience, is finally available for download on the Steam service and is going to hit the GOG one in the very near future.
Pillars of Eternity experienced a huge rush of popularity when Obsidian Entertainment first revealed it as a Kickstarter project. The promise of an old-school role-playing experience with parties, adventures, and the trademark great writing from the studio enabled it to collect millions of dollars in crowdfunding.
After a pretty long wait, the title was finally released worldwide last month by Obsidian in partnership with Paradox, and quite a lot of people were impressed with the RPG.
Patch 1.03 is finally available and fixes many issues
Unfortunately, quite a few different problems, bugs, and issues were soon spotted by players, including a particularly nasty one relating to double-clicking equipment items that were causing passive abilities to get removed from the character.
Fortunately, the latest and biggest patch for Pillars of Eternity, update 1.03, is now available for download worldwide via the Steam service. It will soon be released for those with the GOG version of Pillars of Eternity, so they should stay tuned for more details.
All sorts of great things are included in the patch
Lots of big enhancements and smaller fixes are included in update 1.03 for the game, starting with the double-clicking bug solution to fixes for an exploit that caused permanent attribute increase when equipping certain items. The crash experienced by many in Raedric's Hold has been fixed, whereas the looping audio sounds when playing with minimized tooltips should no longer be an issue.
All sorts of new features are also added to the game by the patch, from graphics settings for the anti-aliasing levels to pro tips in the Glossary, new icons for items, and a new voice set reactivity to certain situations.
