Sony has just rolled out a brand new PS Vita firmware update, taking the system software to version 3.01 and apparently bringing a few stability improvements over last month's 3.00.

The PS Vita is being heavily marketed by Sony to hardcore gamers as well as to those who recently got the PS4 next-gen home console, thanks to the Remote Play function.

Now, after the major firmware update from last month, in the form of 3.00, Sony has apparently rolled out another system software update, taking the handheld's firmware to version 3.01.

There's no word about the things included in the new edition of the operating system but it's a mandatory install, as you can no longer access the PlayStation Network without first getting the new build.

You can download it right now from Softpedia and install it using a PC or you can get it via the PS Vita by connecting it to a wireless network.
