A brand new patch for Titanfall has just been released on the PC and Xbox One, bringing forth a variety of different improvements for the game, not to mention extra Private Match settings or support for higher framerates on the PC.

Titanfall is set to receive its first big expansion later this month, in the form of the Expedition map pack, but this doesn't mean that developer Respawn is neglecting the actual game to focus on premium downloadable content.

It's actually quite the opposite, as a brand new free update has just been rolled out for the game across the PC and Xbox One platforms, bringing forth a huge array of improvements and enhancements for the multiplayer-only first-person shooter, according to the official website.

First up, the custom loadouts have been tweaked, as you can now name them for both pilots and titans, as well as use two dedicated custom loadout slots per each game mode.

"Each of these 2 loadouts become unlocked after playing the game mode 5 and 10 times respectively. These loadouts are only available in the game mode they are listed under. In a Private Lobby, all game mode loadouts can be customized. In a match lobby you can only customize the loadouts for the game mode about to be played," the studio said.

The Last Game Summary screen has also seen some drastic improvements, as it will now show the scoreboard of your last match so that you can still view it from the lobby of the next one. It will also allow players to filter which challenges are displayed, from the Most Progress Made setting, which is standard, to Completed or Almost Complete. These challenges will also show what rewards will be given to players if you highlight them.

The Custom Private Match settings have also been expanded upon, as players can finally tweak the score or time limits, as well as the AI types and lethality, not to mention the pilot health and ammo or the Titan shield capacity, first built time or rebuild time.

More stats about a player's performance across each level are also available in the menu, and the campaign section finally shows which levels were won or lost while a player led a certain faction.

New features for the PC and Xbox One have also been included in the latest Titanfall patch. PC users get support for framerates of up to 144fps, as well as a shorter audio file installation process and better scoreboard controls using a keyboard. Xbox One users can admire a new chat icon that shows when a player is in Xbox party chat and therefore can't chat in the game.

The new update is rolling out as we speak on PC, via the Origin service, and on Xbox One, via Xbox Live. It will debut for Xbox 360 in the future.
