Minecraft Xbox 360 edition now has a brand new update available for download, which allows owners of the game to transfer their save game files and worlds into the upcoming Minecraft Xbox One version, which is out tomorrow.

It's a big week for the Minecraft franchise as developer 4J Studios is currently rolling out the game onto several new platforms, starting with the PS4 today, in both Europe and North America, and on the Xbox One tomorrow, September 5, worldwide.

For now, 4J has confirmed that a fresh update for Minecraft on the Xbox 360 has just been rolled out, finally bringing the option to transfer the save game files from that version of the game into the Xbox One edition.

The patch should be available for download as we speak via the Xbox Live service.

Minecraft PS3 owners will have to wait a bit more before being able to transfer their save game files and worlds onto the PS4 version of the game, as 4J also mentioned on Twitter that the patch is still in development and will be sent to testing with Sony in the near future.

As such, it's unclear when the update is going to go live on the PlayStation Network.
