League of Legends has just received a brand new patch from developer Riot Games, this time bringing even more nerfs and buffs to a variety of champions, including controversial ones like Nidalee.

League of Legends launched back in 2009, and at that time, it delivered a pretty interesting take on the multiplayer online battle arena genre that was dominated by the first Dota. Since then, the game has gone through several major changes and periods, while new competitors like Dota 2 or Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm launched.

2015 so far has been filled with some controversial periods for the popular game, as developer Riot made sweeping changes relating to mages and champions that take care of the jungle area in the main Summoner's Rift map.

League of Legends patch 5.7 is now available for download

The last few updates were designed to rectify some of the problems introduced by earlier ones, and now patch 5.7 has just been released by Riot Games all over the world.

Like recent ones, the new patch brings a suite of buffs and nerfs to various champions in order to gently nudge players to come up with new strategies and picks during the actual matches. What's more, the update doesn't make any change to April's special Ultra Rapid Fire mode, so fans can continue enjoying the April Fools’ prank this month.

Improved champions include Bard, one of the latest additions to the game, as well as Darius, whose ultimate refunds mana and even resets the cooldown on a kill. Evelynn also deals more damage with Hate Spike, Garen's ultimate has a smaller cooldown, while other champs have also seen a few tweaks.

Nerfs also affect the highly controversial Nidalee, whose standard health and progression have been reduced somewhat to give enemies at least a fighting chance against the tough Jungle character. Hecarim's base health and mana regen figures are also lowered by the update.

The patch also brings varied changes for the likes of Blitzcrank, Fizz, Kassadin, Maokai, Morgana, and many others.

You can now download League of Legends patch 5.7 through the in-game launcher. Check out the full changelog on the official website.
