League of Legends developer Riot Games has just unleashed a brand new patch for its popular game, in the form of update 5.6, which brings a new suite of buffs to plenty of old champions, not to mention others changes to the Summoner's Rift map and quite a few other bug fixes.

League of Legends has been around for quite some time now and developer Riot Games has constantly kept the multiplayer experience updated with many interesting features, new champions, not to mention a few tweaks to the meta-game, in order to keep things fresh.

The latest few updates for the game have been controversial, to say the least, as Riot removed the Deathfire Grasp item and drastically altered the jungle role of many champions.

The latest patch 5.5 did many things to fix this, and now update 5.6 is live with a suite of other improvements, including buffs to various champions that have been ignored in recent times.

According to the official website, Riot wanted to show some love to champions that haven't been so popular nowadays, but at the same time it doesn't want to leave the door open for the dreaded power creep situation.

In case you're not aware of this strategy, power creep refers to a situation in which old champions are buffed and this in turn triggers future buffs to newer champions that now have to be more powerful to match the older ones. This vicious circle can ruin the balancing but Riot is confident that it can avoid this with the new update.

Among the improved champions are Aatrox, Ryze, Rammus, Twitch, Ziggs, and quite a few others. There are also a few nerfs to the likes of Sejuani, while other champs, like Nidalee, are still being monitored for future changes.
