H1Z1 has just received its "Big Damn Patch" as developer Daybreak has rolled out across the multiplayer game's servers a big update filled with all sorts of changes and improvements, but also a server and player wipe, meaning fans will have to start from the beginning.

H1Z1 is the latest project launched in the zombie survival genre, with developer Daybreak, formerly known as Sony Online Entertainment, offering a pretty interesting experience to fans. The game had a rocky launch due to its controversial microtransactions but things have gotten much smoother nowadays.

The "Big Damn Patch" for H1Z1 is finally available

Now, those who got the game through Steam Early Access can finally download the long-awaited "Big Damn Patch" which includes all sorts of new elements, changes, and enhancements for the online game. More importantly, however, is that it also brings a server and player wipe, meaning fans have to start from the beginning, as their previous progress is no longer available.

Even so, there are many solid improvements brought to the game by the new update, starting with a new male character model, but also a major overhaul for the Dam area. The Battle Royale starting area has also been refined, while the current grid position is shown on screen.

Quite a lot of bug fixes relating to vehicles, injuries, terrain problems, and other items are also included in the update, alongside server optimizations for the body simulator system. A new R380 pistol is now available in the game, while the 12GA shotgun's damage has increased.

The spawn system governing the zombies has been changed significantly, as it now creates the undead based on the number of players on the server. As such, those with too few humans won't get overrun with enemies.

Workbenches are also present in the game, allowing players to create recipes, convert ammo and break down guns into repair kits.

The new patch is already available for download via Steam for H1Z1 users on PC. Check out the full changelog below, according to the official post from Daybreak on Reddit.
