Xbox 360 owners with active Xbox Live Gold memberships can now download Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas shooter from the Games on Demand section of the Xbox Games Store, as it's the newest title to be featured in the Games with Gold promotion.

In order to counter Sony's PlayStation Plus, Microsoft kicked off the Games with Gold offer earlier this summer, making available different games for free to active Xbox Live Gold users.

After titles like Assassin's Creed 2 or Magic 2013, the latest game to join the promotion is Rainbow Six: Vegas, the squad-based first-person shooter from Ubisoft.

The new title can be downloaded right now via the Xbox Games Store and will stay free until the beginning of October, when another title will replace it.

As with all Games with Gold title, even if Xbox 360 owners let their Gold subscription expire, they'll still be able to download and play the game.
