A brand new patch for Driveclub is now available for download on the PS4 platform, bringing forth the long awaited dynamic weather system, not to mention two new tracks, bug fixes, and support for upcoming DLC packs.

Driveclub launched back in October after suffering from almost a year-long delay, as Evolution Studios required extra time to polish the racing experience and couldn't release it in November of last year alongside the actual PS4 console.

While the delay was tough to swallow, fans still awaited the title with open arms, but when it actually launched, the myriad of online issues caused a fierce backlash amongst fans from all over the world. Developer Evolution released plenty of updates in the meantime and online play has gotten back on track, more or less.

A brand new update is now live for Driveclub

Now, a brand new patch for Driveclub has just gone live all around the world across the PS4 platform, in the form of update 1.08, which weighs in at a whopping 1.4GB, according to the official announcement on Facebook.

Among the main new features is the dynamic weather system, which works both in the single-player races and in the online multiplayer ones, so expect to see way more varied events thanks to the unpredictable weather.

Besides the new dynamic system, two new tracks, complete with reverse variants, are now available in the game, in the form of the Atlanterhavsvegen in Norway and Sinclair Pass in Canada.

Plenty of improvements are also included

Besides these new additions, plenty of existing features have also been improved in the game, like with the control configuration option that allows the Throttle and Brake to be tied to the up and down directions on the right stick of the DualShock 4 controller.

Driveclub owners will also be able to access the Club Cars and Club Paint Jobs when they're offline, which should make it easier in case any multiplayer problems arise.

Track maps and stats have been added to each circuit in the Single Event mode, while players’ stats are included in various panels within the Single Event and Challenges sections. Minor bug fixes, performance improvements, and tweaks to the usability have also been made.

Upcoming DLC packs, both free and premium, are coming to Driveclub soon and this patch is necessary to ensure that they work as intended. These are the Mazzanti Evantra free car, as well as the Redline Expansion and the Elements Tour packs, which all bring fresh cars, events, and even trophies.
