After a pretty lengthy wait, Activision and Infinity Ward have just rolled out a brand new add-on for Call of Duty: Ghosts, in the form of the Devastation DLC, which brings fresh competitive maps, one new cooperative scenario, and a fresh hybrid gun.

Call of Duty: Ghosts received lots of new items and content ever since its release in November, ranging from player skins and customization packs to proper map-based DLCs like the Onslaught add-on.

Now, the second major map pack, Devastation, has just been released for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms via the Xbox Live online platform.

The DLC brings four new maps for the competitive multiplayer mode, in the form of Behemoth, Ruins, Collision, and Unearthed.

Each provides different experiences, with Behemoth focusing on a massive excavation vehicle on which its action takes place. If players complete the field order of the map, they can control an attack helicopter to take out enemies from above.

Ruins takes place on a Mayan temple situated atop of a mountain that's been infested by the jungle. You can not only fight on the surface of the ruins but also inside it through its different subterranean corridors.

Collision is set in New York and focuses on a cargo ship that's crashed into a bridge, complete with squished shipping containers, destroyed vehicles, and much more. This map's field order allows players to take control of an A-10 Warthog aircraft and use its arsenal to take out the opposition.

Last but not least, there's Unearthed, which is inspired by Dome, the fan favorite level from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The map focuses on an alien dig site filled with Cryptid artifacts, scientific artifacts, and plenty of surprises. This map's field order allows players to unleash three Cryptid alien creatures, similar to the ones seen in the Extinction cooperative mode.

Speaking of Extinction, Devastation brings Mayday, the second DLC episode 2 for the co-op mode. The action moves onto an abandoned ship that's floating in the South Pacific and filled with new alien creatures like the Seeder or the imposing Kraken.

As an added bonus, Call of Duty: Ghosts owners who get Devastation will also receive a brand new weapon called the Ripper. Once again, it's a hybrid, just like the Onslaught Maverick gun, as it can transform from an Assault Rifle into a sub-machine gun on the fly, providing great versatility to players.

Devastation is out now for 15 USD/EUR but Season Pass owners can get it for free.
