Battlefield 4 has just received a brand new update on the PlayStation 4 platform, solving a "very severe crash issue" on the next-gen console.

Battlefield 4 came out on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 last month, and on the PS4 last week.

Unfortunately for owners of Sony's next-gen console, the game has plenty of issues and problems on the PS4, many of them blamed by EA on the PS4's firmware 1.50.

Now, DICE has confirmed on Battlelog that a brand new patch for the PS4 edition of Battlefield 4 is being rolled out and might disconnect players from their game sessions while it's being applied.

The new update will solve "a very severe crash issue," but DICE didn't say just what actual problem was addressed.

The patch will be automatically downloaded when you start Battlefield 4 and your PS4 is connected to the Internet.
