A brand new patch for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has just gone live on the PlayStation 4 console, weighing in at a whopping 2.3GB in size but bringing quite a few long awaited improvements to the next-gen game from Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag appeared for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U last November, bringing a bold new experience and signaling a great comeback for the long running franchise, which lost some of its popularity with Assassin's Creed 3.

Now, a fresh patch has just gone live on the PlayStation 4 platform, as a massive new update of around 2.3GB in size is awaiting owners of the game on the PlayStation Network online service.

The patch, found via NeoGAF, brings both single-player and multiplayer changes, including many long awaited improvements.

Bugs relating to the connection with over 100 friends or with the loyalty reward skins not unlocking have been eliminated, while different crashes, freezes, and other issues have also been solved.

Check out the full changelog below.

SINGLEPLAYER

- Fix rare crashes and freezes - Change Fight Balance to increase double attacks - Fixed Abstergo challenges count to show 100% complete - Add tutorial video streaming support - Add support for resource pack consumable - Fixed news display not always showing correct news - Fixed loyalty reward skins not always being awarded - Fixed connection with over 100 friends.

MULTIPLAYER

- Fixed various crashes and freezes - Fixed the situation where the user could not kill or stun while both assassin and target were near a corner - Various fixes on the death cam - Various fixes on the menus - Fix various limited mode issues

The new patch does occupy a lot of space, at around 2.3GB, but it includes plenty of big changes, so it's worth it to install and update.
