Developer Adam Iser has released a new version of the popular instant messaging client for Mac OS X, Adium. Replicating most of iChat’s features, Adium can connect to AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo etc. Fans can download the latest stable and beta versions of the software right here, on Softpedia.

Adium combines numerous IM protocols, such as the AOL Instant Messenger (including ICQ and .Mac), Jabber (including Google Talk), MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Novell Groupwise and Lotus Sametime. The IM client also gives users the possibility to connect with multiple types of accounts at the same time, combining all their friend groups into one big list. Supported buddy icons comprise AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! The IM Mac client has a customizable appearance as well.

Adium version 1.3.6, dubbed “Mercurial Revision,” updates the software to libpurple 2.5.9, as well as to Pidgin-facebookchat 1.6.0 from 1.5.1.
