A new Beta development snapshot of Opera 10.60 is now available for download. Early adopters that have already downloaded, installed and tested the first Beta milestone of the next iteration of Opera will notice improvements in terms of stability and reliability. Fact is that Opera 10.60 Beta Build 3426 is designed to introduce a number of fixes, for bugs that survived past Build 3422, which was released earlier this week.

With Opera 10.60 Beta Build 3422, Opera Software focused on introducing a set of new features in the browser, as well as delivering performance optimizations. Moving onward, the Norway-based browser maker is softening the rough edges of the browser and readying the successor of Opera 10.50. “With the beta out, we can start taking in a few more fixes again. As you can see from the changelog, there's a fair amount of core fixes, so please look out for regressions,” a member of the opera Desktop team revealed.

Early adopters will be able to take a look at the changelog for Opera 10.60 Beta Build 3426 and check to see whether the bug fixes introduced have generated any problems. All the while, users need to keep in mind that, “This is a development snapshot of Opera. It is released for testing purposes, and there may be serious bugs and unfinished features,” the Opera Desktop team representative added.

Testers are bound to notice that Opera 10.60 Beta Build 3426 will report itself as version 10.50. This is a known issue and nothing to worry about, as Opera Software will resolve the problem in an upcoming release. Meanwhile, there are a plethora of goodies to play around with in Opera 10.60 Beta, including support for WebM and the VP8 HTML5 codec, but also new features such as Geolocation, Web Workers, Offline Web Applications, an update to Cross-Document Messaging, and the new Bing default search engine option.
